My Story

I live in bustling prairie city of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada with my husband and cats.  I always loved beaded items. I remember as a kid going on vacation with my mom and dad and begging them to buy me a beaded keychain from one of the souvenir shops we stopped at. I was fascinated and from that point on, I knew I wanted to learn how to bead.

I started beading in 1998 as a hobby, creating beautiful fringe earrings and necklaces.  This was really pre-internet, so I had learned from trial and error and books. Supplies were quite limited so most of the earrings were made with Japanese seed and bugle beads.  I sold my wares at craft sales and through family and friends.

I beaded for a few years and then decided to stop, not because I didn’t enjoy it, but because as everyone knows, life happens and you change your priorities. I knew I would always come back to beading as a way of my creativity as I proudly displayed and wore my creations. In 2018, I decided to start beading again, just to use up my beading supplies, but upon working on my creations, I found that through the internet, I could purchase supplies much easier than before and with that, I was hooked again. I have expanded my beadwork to include different sizes, colors, makes and shapes of beads.

Upon showing my family and friends my beaded creations, they wanted to purchase my items without me even thinking about selling them.  Many asked me for samples and for a website so they show others my work. So, I put beading aside for a few months and created this website, MP Beaded Elegance, and now I can focus on creating beaded jewelry and other beaded items for my family, friends and you!
